Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  4. bloody urine
  5. blurred vision
  6. body aches or pain
  7. burning, numbness, painful, or tingling sensations
  8. chest pain
  9. chills
  10. confusion
  11. cough
  12. coughing up blood
  13. cracked lips
  14. decreased frequency or amount of urine
  15. diarrhea
  16. difficult or labored breathing
  17. difficulty in swallowing
  18. dizziness, fainting, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  19. ear congestion
  20. fainting
  21. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  22. fever
  23. headache
  24. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  25. increased thirst
  26. itching, pain, redness, swelling, tenderness, or warmth on the skin
  27. loss of appetite
  28. loss of voice
  29. lower back or side pain
  30. nausea
  31. nosebleeds
  32. painful or difficult urination
  33. pale skin
  34. paralysis
  35. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  36. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  37. rapid, shallow breathing
  38. runny or stuffy nose
  39. sneezing
  40. sore throat
  41. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips, tongue, or inside the mouth
  42. sweating
  43. unusual bleeding or bruising
  44. unusual tiredness or weakness
  45. unusual weight gain or loss
  46. vomiting

Less common

  1. Fever sores on the skin
  2. blue lips, fingernails, or skin

Rare

  1. Joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  2. stomach pain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Constipation
  2. decreased appetite
  3. difficulty in moving
  4. falls
  5. muscle pain, cramps, or stiffness
  6. skin rash
  7. trouble sleeping
  8. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  9. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
