Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chills
  3. cold sweats
  4. confusion
  5. discouragement
  6. dizziness
  7. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from lying or sitting position
  8. feeling sad or empty
  9. full feeling
  10. headache
  11. irritability
  12. lack of appetite
  13. loss of interest or pleasure
  14. nervousness
  15. pounding in the ears
  16. pressure in the stomach
  17. rapid weight gain
  18. slow or fast heartbeat
  19. swelling of the abdominal or stomach area
  20. tingling of the hands or feet
  21. tiredness
  22. trouble concentrating
  23. trouble sleeping
  24. twitching, twisting, or uncontrolled repetitive movements of the tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs
  25. unusual weight gain or loss

Less common

  1. Burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  2. confusion about identity, place, and time
  3. dry mouth
  4. false beliefs that cannot be changed by facts
  5. feeling that others are watching you or controlling your behavior
  6. holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact
  7. hyperventilation
  8. irregular heartbeats
  9. restlessness
  10. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  11. severe constipation
  12. severe mood or mental changes
  13. severe vomiting
  14. shaking
  15. shortness of breath
  16. trouble sleeping
  17. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  18. unusual behavior
  19. unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness
  20. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Rare

  1. Change in size, shape, or color of existing mole
  2. mole that leaks fluid or bleeds
  3. new mole

Incidence not known

  1. Blindness
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. constipation that does not go away
  4. convulsions
  5. dark, tarry stools
  6. decreased vision
  7. difficulty with breathing
  8. eye pain
  9. high fever
  10. increased sweating
  11. loss of bladder control
  12. nausea or vomiting
  13. pain in the shoulders, arms, jaw, or neck
  14. severe muscle stiffness
  15. tearing
  16. unusually pale skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. cough
  3. difficulty with swallowing
  4. ear congestion
  5. excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
  6. heartburn
  7. loss of voice
  8. nasal congestion
  9. passing gas
  10. redness at the incision site
  11. runny nose
  12. sneezing
  13. sore throat

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. diarrhea
  4. heartburn
  5. indigestion
  6. rash
  7. stomach discomfort or upset

Incidence not known

  1. Sleepiness
  2. unusual drowsiness
