Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. coughing up blood
  3. difficulty in breathing or swallowing
  4. dizziness
  5. headache
  6. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  7. nosebleeds
  8. paralysis
  9. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  10. red or black, tarry stools
  11. red or dark brown urine

Less common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. bloody or cloudy urine
  3. blurred vision
  4. decreased urine
  5. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  6. dizziness
  7. dry mouth
  8. frequent urge to urinate
  9. increased thirst
  10. irregular heartbeat
  11. loss of appetite
  12. lower back or side pain
  13. mood changes
  14. muscle pain or cramps
  15. nausea or vomiting
  16. nervousness
  17. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  18. pounding in the ears
  19. seizures
  20. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Constipation
  2. diarrhea

Incidence not known

  1. Fever
  2. joint or muscle pain
  3. redness and soreness of the eyes
  4. skin rash
  5. sores in the mouth
  6. stomach pain
  7. swelling of the feet or lower legs
