Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Convulsions (seizures)

Less common or rare

  1. Blurred vision or double vision
  2. fainting
  3. mental depression
  4. muscle weakness
  5. ringing or buzzing in ears
  6. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  7. shortness of breath or troubled breathing

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Convulsions (seizures)
  2. dizziness, drowsiness, or lightheadedness
  3. increased watering of the mouth
  4. mental confusion
  5. muscle weakness
  6. nausea and/or vomiting
  7. shortness of breath or troubled breathing

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Constipation
  2. difficult urination
  3. dizziness
  4. headache
  5. nausea and/or vomiting
  6. numbness or tingling in hands or feet
  7. sleepiness

Less common

  1. Clumsiness, unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control
  2. diarrhea
  3. difficulty sleeping
  4. dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when getting up from a lying or sitting position
  5. dry mouth
  6. frequent urge to urinate
  7. irritation of the skin at the site where the pump is located
  8. itching of the skin
  9. sexual problems
  10. slurred speech or other speech problems
  11. swelling of ankles, feet, or lower legs
  12. trembling or shaking

After you stop using this medicine, it may still produce some side effects that need attention. During this period of time, check with your doctor immediately if you notice the following side effects:
