Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bigger, dilated, or enlarged pupils
  2. blindness
  3. blurred vision
  4. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  5. cough
  6. decreased vision
  7. decrease in urine volume
  8. decrease in frequency of urination
  9. difficulty in passing urine
  10. difficulty swallowing
  11. dizziness
  12. eye pain
  13. extremely high fever or body temperature
  14. fainting
  15. fast, shallow breathing
  16. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  17. fast, weak heartbeat
  18. headache
  19. hives, itching, skin rash
  20. increase in mucous from lungs
  21. lightheadedness
  22. muscle cramps
  23. nausea or vomiting
  24. pain at the injection site
  25. painful urination
  26. pale, clammy skin
  27. pounding or rapid pulse
  28. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  29. stomach pain
  30. tearing
  31. thirst
  32. trouble breathing
  33. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Decreased awareness or responsiveness
  2. dryness or soreness of the throat
  3. excessive muscle tone
  4. hoarseness
  5. loss of memory
  6. muscle stiffness, tension, or tightness
  7. overactive reflexes
  8. problems with memory
  9. seizures
  10. severe sleepiness
  11. shakiness and unsteady walk
  12. unsteadiness, trembling or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  13. voice changes

Incidence not known

  1. Change in color vision
  2. confusion
  3. difficulty seeing at night
  4. discouragement
  5. dry eyes
  6. dry mouth
  7. feeling sad or empty
  8. hallucinations
  9. holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact
  10. increased sensitivity of the eyes to sunlight
  11. lack of appetite
  12. loss of interest or pleasure
  13. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  14. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  15. trouble concentrating
  16. trouble sleeping
  17. unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating
  2. constipation
  3. diarrhea
  4. impotence
  5. loss of libido
  6. small or red spots on the skin
