The purpose of this study is to determine the long-term outcome of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) recipients with congestive heart failure and any indications for CRT at Mayo Clinic. A Study to Evaluate Sex and Age Differences in Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Patients Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to determine whether serum biomarkers and comorbidities differ between subjects with hEDS/HSD vs. other non-hypermobile EDS subtypes and whether sex and/or age differences exist, and to determine whether serum biomarkers and comorbidities differ between subjects with hEDS vs. HSD and whether sex and/or age differences exist. A Study to Evaluate Filter Comparison for Reducing COVID-19 Infection Risk Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to compare cardiopulmonary exercise testing with no filter to pre- and post-flow sensor placement. Genetic Predictors of QT Prolongation with Anti-arrhythmic Medication Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to assess the ability of common genetic variants in aggregate to predict drug-induced QT prolongation in patients being started on dofetilide. We will examine the predictiveness of a QT genotype score on QT prolongation in patients admitted for dofetilide initiation. A Study of Inorganic Nitrite to Amplify the Benefits and Tolerability of Exercise Training in Heart Failure that has Preserved Ejection Fraction Rochester, Minn., Red Wing, Minn., Mankato, Minn., Cannon Falls, Minn., La Crosse, Wis., Austin, Minn., Albert Lea, Minn. Participants with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction will undergo 12 weeks of cardiac rehabilitation for exercise training (ET) and be randomized to either nebulized sodium nitrite inhalation solution or placebo inhalation solution (normal saline) through the training period. Study drug is administered 3 times daily during daytime hours with one of these doses being immediately prior to onset of ET sessions throughout the 12 week trial. The objective is to determine if the inhaled sodium nitrite improves the clinical responses and tolerability of ET. 3D Echocardiography Volumetric Measurements in Patients with or without Valvular Heart Disease Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine if 3D volumetric measurements will allow more robust quantification of valvular heart disease severity. A Study to Evaluate the Accuracy of Cardiac Acoustic Biomarkers by the Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the data accuracy of the cardiac acoustic biomarkers (CABs) recorded the FDA-approved LifeVest® Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator (WCD). To show accuracy, these data will be compared with CABs data simultaneously recorded by the AUDICOR® AM device, a FDA cleared, acoustic cardiography recorder. Neural Circulatory Control and SUDEP Risk. Rochester, Minn. The investigators believe epilepsy alters the way the body controls blood pressure, heart rate and breathing, and these changes increase the risk of sudden unexpected death in patients with epilepsy (SUDEP). SUDEP-7 is a risk scoring tool which may correlate with these changes to the heart and blood vessels. This research study measures those differences which may help identify new markers to help predict those patients at greatest risk in the future. A Study to Evaluate Optimal Target of Activated Clotting Time During Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Outcomes Jacksonville, Fla. The primary research hypothesis is that in the modern cardiac catheterization laboratory, where PCI procedural duration is relatively short and rates of intracoronary stenting and dual antiplatelet therapy use is high, lower ACT targets, as compared with higher ACT targets, will be associated with lower rates of bleeding while having similar rates of ischemic events. A Study to Evaluate Long-term Outcomes of Alcohol Septal Ablation for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine long term vital status, symptoms, and need for repeat procedure after alcohol septal ablation, to determine patient and procedural factors associated with successful alcohol septal ablation and need for repeat procedure, and to determine the impact of conduction abnormalities after alcohol septal ablation on long-term outcomes.
