Fouad T. Chebib, M.D., is a nephrologist and associate professor of medicine at Mayo Clinic Florida, leading both both the Polycystic Kidney Disease Center of Excellence and the Discovery and Translational PKD Research Laboratory. Dr. Chebib's clinical focus encompasses:

• Pioneering management of Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and related complications.
• Leading the first FDA-approved Tolvaptan clinic at Mayo Clinic, which significantly advances PKD treatment options.
• Coordinating comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for ADPKD patients to address associated conditions such as symptomatic enlarged kidneys, kidney stones, hypertension, polycystic liver disease, intracranial aneurysms, and cardiac complications.
• Spearheading major clinical trials and translating novel ADPKD treatments into clinical practice.
• Developing innovative therapies and using advanced artificial intelligence to personalize treatment in ADPKD.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Chebib is a prominent researcher and educator. He earned his medical degree from the University of Balamand, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular nephrology at Harvard University under Dr. Seth Alper. His training continued at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center, Tufts University, and Mayo Clinic, where he also served as a Mayo Clinic Scholar under Dr. Vicente Torres. Dr. Chebib's research efforts include exploring molecular mechanisms of cyst formation and novel water regulation mechanisms in ADPKD, as well as initiating a Phase 2 clinical trial. He has authored over 85 peer-reviewed publications and developed comprehensive educational courses on ADPKD, including the Mayo Clinic Press PKD Resource Center.

Dr. Chebib's achievements are recognized through multiple awards, including the Mayo Clinic Team Science Award and the Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award. He is an influential member of the nephrology community, serving on the Board of Directors of the PKD Foundation and as a reviewer for NIH study sections. His book, "Polycystic Kidney Disease for Clinicians," highlights his commitment to improving patient care and advancing medical knowledge in PKD. Through his multifaceted career, Dr. Chebib is dedicated to eliminating the need for dialysis in patients with ADPKD.
