The most common type of uterine cancer develops in the lining of the uterus (endometrium) and is sometimes called endometrial cancer. Symptoms include bleeding not related to menstrual periods, unusual discharge and pelvic pain. Most endometrial cancers occur in postmenopausal women ages 50 to 70 years. Uterine sarcoma, which occurs in the muscle of the uterus, is a less common form of uterine cancer.
