Sarcoma

Overview

The word sarcoma means "fleshy growth." Sarcomas usually develop in the connective tissue of the human body. Bone sarcomas are treated differently than soft tissue sarcomas. The term soft tissue sarcoma includes more than 50 types of cancer, but most of these tumors are treated in similar ways.
