Mayo Clinic-facilitated support groups
Below are support groups facilitated by Mayo Clinic social workers and open to the public.
Grief support groups for adults
Mayo Clinic Hospice offers adult grief support groups two times a year. The groups are free and open to any adult who has experienced:
- the death of a spouse or significant other
- the death of a parent or grandparent
- the death of a child or grandchild.

LVAD support group
This support group is for people who have a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and their family members. The groups meets from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in Room 5-502, Mary Brigh Building at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus. Contact Tami J. Halverson, L.I.C.S.W., at 507-284-2131.
For siblings of children with chronic medical conditions, ages 5 to 18. The younger children's program meets twice a year, and the teens meet twice a year. Contact the Child Life Program at 507-255-4091.
Transplant support group
The transplant solid organ support group meets every Monday from 4 to 5 p.m. in Room 4-510, Mary Brigh Building at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus. It is an open group for pre- and post-transplant patients and their caregivers. Contact Claire M. Dudzinski, L.G.S.W., with questions at 507-284-2131.
Traumatic brain injury support group
This group is for patients and families who have been seen or are being seen in the Mayo Clinic outpatient brain rehabilitation program. The group meets the second Wednesday of every month from 7 to 8 p.m. Contact Anita M. Milburn, L.I.C.S.W., at 507-284-7241.
