Becoming a Patient at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota
Thousands of people come to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota each day for diagnosis and treatment of a medical problem. Many people make their own appointments and some are referred by a doctor. Most people are treated on an outpatient basis, meaning their evaluation, tests and treatments are done in the clinic, and they return to their home or lodging at the end of the day.
Outpatients are seen primarily on the downtown campus. People who require inpatient care are hospitalized in Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus (downtown), Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus (west of the downtown campus), or Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital, located within the Saint Marys Campus.
