Many factors impact one's health. In minority populations, the outcomes of some diseases are more severe than others due to health disparities.
Mayo Clinic is dedicated to furthering minority health and wellness efforts and ending health disparities. Through education and awareness programs, personalized health care and innovative research, Mayo Clinic strives to eliminate disparities within our communities and to help prevent and reduce illness and death in minority populations.

A clinical trial is one way Mayo Clinic conducts research. Clinical trials have led to important discoveries that make our lives better, such as improved medical treatments, or new drugs, devices and surgical techniques. The purpose of a clinical trial is to determine if new therapies are safe and perhaps more effective than current therapies.
Mayo Clinic sponsors certain clinical studies initiated by Mayo physicians as part of its ongoing commitment to clinical research. For minority communities, advances in research mean better treatments and potential cures for cancer, memory disorders and other high-incidence diseases.
