If you're a woman younger than age 35 and don't become pregnant after a year of intercourse without birth control, or are older than age 35 and don't become pregnant in six months, you're likely to be infertile. A man of any age who doesn't produce and deliver enough high-quality sperm to impregnate his partner also may be infertile.
