Of course, it helps to have support from others — a friend or a family member who listens in a nonjudgmental way and is there for you during difficult times. Professional help can be life-saving too.
Although you can't turn back the clock on setbacks and disappointments, your past does not have to define you. After all, the present moment is all you can control, not what happened in the past.
