Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. change in color vision
  3. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  4. confusion
  5. cough
  6. decrease in frequency of urination
  7. decrease in urine volume
  8. difficult and painful urination
  9. difficulty in passing urine [dribbling]
  10. difficulty seeing at night
  11. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  12. dry mouth
  13. excitement
  14. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  15. headache
  16. hives, itching, skin rash
  17. increased sensitivity of eyes to sunlight
  18. mental confusion
  19. pale skin
  20. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  21. sleeplessness
  22. slow or irregular heartbeat
  23. sweating
  24. thirst
  25. trouble breathing
  26. trouble sleeping
  27. unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Constricted, pinpoint, or small pupils [black part of the eye]
  2. diarrhea
  3. high fever
  4. loss of consciousness
  5. no blood pressure or pulse
  6. no breathing
  7. noisy breathing
  8. pale or blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  9. rigid muscles
  10. seizures
  11. sleepiness
  12. stopping of the heart
  13. unconsciousness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Bloated
  2. constipation
  3. dry skin
  4. loss of taste
  5. nausea
  6. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Difficulty in moving
  2. excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
  3. feeling of warmth
  4. full feeling
  5. increased sweating
  6. joint pain
  7. muscle pain, stiffness, cramps, or spasms
  8. passing gas
  9. redness of the face, neck, arms and occasionally, upper chest

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
