Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Bloody nose
  2. fever
  3. headache
  4. muscle aches
  5. nasal discomfort
  6. sore throat
  7. stuffy or runny nose
  8. unusual tiredness or weakness

Rare

  1. Acne or pimples
  2. blindness
  3. blistering, burning, crusting, dryness, or flaking of the skin
  4. bloody mucus or unexplained nosebleeds
  5. blurred vision
  6. change in vision
  7. darkening of the skin
  8. decreased vision
  9. diarrhea
  10. difficulty with breathing or troubled breathing
  11. difficulty with swallowing
  12. dizziness
  13. eye pain
  14. fainting
  15. hives
  16. itching, scaling, severe redness, soreness, or swelling of the skin
  17. loss of appetite
  18. loss of consciousness
  19. loss of vision
  20. menstrual changes
  21. mental depression
  22. nausea
  23. reddening of the skin, especially around the ears
  24. skin rash
  25. swelling of the eyes, eyelids, face, or inside of the nose
  26. tearing
  27. tightness in the chest
  28. vomiting
  29. weight gain around the face, neck, and trunk
  30. wheezing
  31. white patches inside the nose or throat

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Ear pain

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
