Mayo Clinic researchers recently presented the first prevalence study of joint replacement, showing an estimated 4.7 million Americans have undergone total knee arthroplasty and 2.5 million have undergone total hip arthroplasty.

Certain types of fractures may have implications for a child's long-term bone health
A Mayo Clinic study shows that children and adolescents with traumatic forearm fractures had lower bone strength compared with other children. Lower bone strength may predispose children to fractures resulting from weakened bone later in life.

Knee Dislocation and Multi-ligament Knee Reconstruction

Designed for high-level arthroscopists, this course focuses on multiligament knee reconstruction. The latest in ACL, PCL, MCL/posteromedial corner and FCL/posterolateral corner surgical techniques are addressed. To maximize surgical experience, the course assigns two attendees to one faculty member per lab station.

24th Annual Mayo Clinic Symposium on Sports Medicine
Nov. 7-8, 2014, in Rochester, Minn.
This multidisciplinary course is designed to provide physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers and other sports medicine professionals with the latest diagnostic and treatment strategies for sports-related and musculoskeletal conditions. Expert lecturers will demonstrate physical examination, anatomy and arthroscopy.
