Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blood in the urine or stools
  3. blurred vision
  4. chills
  5. cough
  6. dizziness
  7. fever
  8. headache
  9. hoarseness
  10. lower back or side pain
  11. nervousness
  12. painful or difficult urination
  13. pale skin
  14. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  15. pounding in the ears
  16. seeing flashes or sparks of light
  17. seeing floating spots before the eyes
  18. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  19. shortness of breath
  20. slow or fast heartbeat
  21. sore throat
  22. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  23. troubled breathing
  24. troubled breathing with exertion
  25. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  26. unusual bleeding or bruising
  27. unusual tiredness or weakness
  28. veil or curtain appearing across part of vision

Less common

  1. Changes in facial skin color
  2. confusion
  3. false beliefs
  4. fast or irregular breathing
  5. feeling, hearing, or seeing things that are not there
  6. hives, itching, and skin rash
  7. large, hive-like swellings on the eyelids, face, lips, mouth, or tongue
  8. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes
  9. runny or stuffy nose
  10. seizures
  11. tightness in the chest
  12. trouble thinking

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. diarrhea
  3. headache
  4. nausea and vomiting
  5. numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness of the hands or feet
  6. sleeplessness
  7. tingling, burning, or prickly sensations
  8. trouble with sleeping
  9. unsteadiness or awkwardness

Less common

  1. Agitation
