Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Bloody or black, tarry stools
  2. chest pain
  3. constipation
  4. severe stomach pain
  5. swelling of the neck
  6. trouble breathing
  7. vomiting
  8. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds

Incidence not known

  1. Bloody urine
  2. blue lips and fingernails
  3. blurred vision
  4. chest tightness
  5. cough
  6. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  7. decreased frequency or amount of urine
  8. diarrhea
  9. difficulty swallowing
  10. dizziness
  11. fainting
  12. fast, noisy breathing
  13. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  14. hives, itching, skin rash
  15. increased sweating
  16. increased thirst
  17. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  18. loss of appetite
  19. lower back or side pain
  20. nausea
  21. nervousness
  22. pale skin
  23. pounding in the ears
  24. rapid weight gain
  25. rectal bleeding
  26. seizures
  27. stomach tenderness
  28. tingling of the hands or feet
  29. tremor
  30. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Stomach fullness

Less common

  1. Burning or itching around the anus
  2. stomach cramps
