Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. body aches
  3. chills
  4. cough
  5. diarrhea
  6. difficulty with breathing
  7. ear congestion
  8. fever
  9. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  10. headache
  11. loss of appetite
  12. loss of voice
  13. lower back or side pain
  14. muscle aches and pains
  15. nasal congestion
  16. nausea
  17. runny nose
  18. shivering
  19. sneezing
  20. sore throat
  21. sweating
  22. trouble sleeping
  23. unusual tiredness or weakness
  24. vomiting

Less common

  1. Tightness in the chest
  2. tooth or gum problems
  3. troubled breathing
  4. wheezing

Rare

  1. Bloody or cloudy urine
  2. change in hearing
  3. contagious diarrhea
  4. dark urine
  5. difficult or painful urination
  6. earache
  7. fast heartbeat
  8. frequent urge to urinate
  9. general tiredness and weakness
  10. hives
  11. hoarseness
  12. irritation
  13. itching
  14. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  15. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  16. light-colored stools
  17. noisy breathing
  18. pain in the ears
  19. rash
  20. redness of the skin
  21. shortness of breath
  22. skin blisters
  23. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  24. troubled swallowing
  25. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  26. yellow eyes and skin

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. bloating
  3. blurred vision
  4. cold sweats
  5. coma
  6. confusion
  7. constipation
  8. cool, pale skin
  9. depression
  10. dizziness
  11. dry skin and hair
  12. feeling cold
  13. hair loss
  14. hoarseness or husky voice
  15. increased hunger
  16. indigestion
  17. loss of appetite
  18. muscle cramps and stiffness
  19. nervousness
  20. nightmares
  21. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  22. seizures
  23. weight gain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain or discomfort
  2. back pain
  3. difficulty with moving
  4. gas with leaky bowel movements
  5. inability to hold bowel movement
  6. increases in bowel movements
  7. loss of bowel control
  8. oily bowel movements
  9. oily spotting of underclothes

Less common

  1. Itching of the vagina or genital area
  2. menstrual changes
  3. pain during sexual intercourse
  4. rectal pain or discomfort
  5. thick, white vaginal discharge with no odor or with a mild odor
