Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. blurred vision
  3. chills
  4. cold sweats
  5. coma
  6. confusion
  7. cool, pale skin
  8. depression
  9. dizziness
  10. fast heartbeat
  11. headache
  12. increased hunger
  13. nausea
  14. nervousness
  15. nightmares
  16. seizures
  17. shakiness
  18. slurred speech
  19. swelling
  20. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Darkening of the skin
  2. diarrhea
  3. dizziness
  4. excessively heavy vaginal bleeding
  5. fainting
  6. loss of appetite
  7. nausea
  8. skin rash
  9. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Chest pain or discomfort
  2. cough or hoarseness
  3. fast, weak pulse
  4. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  5. lower back or side pain
  6. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  7. painful or difficult urination
  8. pale, cold, or clammy skin
  9. sudden increase in stomach or shoulder pain
  10. sweating
  11. trouble breathing
  12. unusual or large amount of vaginal bleeding

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. lack of loss of strength
  3. stomach pain

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. chest tightness
  4. cough
  5. fainting or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  6. flu-like symptoms
  7. heartburn
  8. increased clear or white vaginal discharge
  9. indigestion
  10. itching of the vagina or genital area
  11. lack or loss of strength
  12. pain during sexual intercourse
  13. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  14. pale skin
  15. shaking chills
  16. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  17. stuffy or runny nose
  18. trouble sleeping
  19. unusual bleeding or bruising

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
