Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. change in vision
  3. feeling like something is in the eye
  4. increased pressure in the eye
  5. loss of vision
  6. pain or irritation of the clear front part of the eye
  7. sensitivity of the eyes to light

Less common

  1. Blurred vision or seeing blue-green halos around objects
  2. chest tightness
  3. decreased vision
  4. difficulty seeing at night
  5. discharge from the eye
  6. dry eyes
  7. eyelid burning, redness, itching, pain, or tenderness
  8. fast heartbeat
  9. fever
  10. hives, itching, skin rash
  11. hoarseness
  12. irritation and swelling of the eye
  13. joint pain
  14. lid itching and swelling
  15. pain in the eye
  16. redness of the eyelid
  17. redness of the skin
  18. stiffness or swelling
  19. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  20. trouble breathing or swallowing

Incidence not known

  1. Redness of the eye
  2. tearing

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Burning of the eye
  2. headache
  3. increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
  4. stinging of the eye

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
