Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. blurred vision
  3. chills
  4. cold sweats
  5. confusion
  6. cool, pale skin
  7. depression
  8. dizziness
  9. fast heartbeat
  10. headache
  11. increased hunger
  12. loss of consciousness
  13. nausea
  14. nightmares
  15. seizures
  16. shakiness
  17. slurred speech
  18. unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating
  2. constipation
  3. cough
  4. fever
  5. hives, welts, itching, or skin rash
  6. large, hard skin blisters
  7. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  8. loss of appetite
  9. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  10. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  11. redness of the skin
  12. severe joint pain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Muscle aches
  2. sore throat
  3. stuffy or runny nose

Less common

  1. Diarrhea

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
