Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Diarrhea

Rare

  1. Agitation
  2. blisters
  3. confusion
  4. diarrhea (watery and severe) which may also be bloody
  5. feeling that others can hear your thoughts or control your behavior
  6. fever
  7. pain, inflammation, or swelling in the calves of the legs, shoulders, or hands
  8. redness and swelling of the skin
  9. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  10. sensation of burning on the skin
  11. severe mood or mental changes
  12. stomach cramps or pain (severe)
  13. skin rash, itching, or redness
  14. trembling
  15. unusual behavior

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blurred vision
  3. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  4. cough
  5. dark urine
  6. difficulty with breathing
  7. difficulty with chewing, talking, or swallowing
  8. drooping eyelids
  9. fainting
  10. fast or irregular heartbeat
  11. general body swelling
  12. hives
  13. hoarseness
  14. joint or muscle pain
  15. muscle cramps, spasms, pain, or stiffness
  16. peeling or loosening of the skin
  17. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  18. seizures
  19. severe dizziness
  20. severe tiredness
  21. tightness in the chest
  22. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  23. unusual bleeding or bruising
  24. unusual tiredness or weakness
  25. vision changes
  26. voice changes
  27. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Change in taste
  2. constipation
  3. dizziness
  4. drowsiness
  5. headache
  6. lightheadedness
  7. nausea
  8. nervousness
  9. stomach pain or discomfort
  10. trouble sleeping
  11. vaginal itching and discharge
  12. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Feeling of warmth or heat
  2. flushing or redness of the skin, especially on the face and neck
  3. sweating

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
