Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Back, leg, or stomach pains
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. blurred vision
  6. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles," or tingling feelings
  7. change in color vision
  8. change in the ability to see colors, especially blue or yellow
  9. chest pain
  10. chills
  11. confusion
  12. cough
  13. dark urine
  14. difficulty breathing
  15. difficulty seeing at night
  16. difficulty swallowing
  17. dizziness
  18. fast heartbeat
  19. fever
  20. general body swelling
  21. headache
  22. hives
  23. hoarseness
  24. increased sensitivity of the eyes to sunlight
  25. irritation
  26. itching
  27. joint pain, stiffness or swelling
  28. light-colored stools
  29. loss of appetite
  30. mood or mental changes
  31. nausea or vomiting, severe
  32. nosebleeds
  33. painful or difficult urination
  34. pale skin
  35. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  36. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips or tongue
  37. redness of the skin
  38. shortness of breath
  39. skin rash
  40. sore throat
  41. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  42. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  43. swollen glands
  44. tightness in the chest
  45. trouble sleeping
  46. troubled breathing or swallowing
  47. unusual bleeding or bruising
  48. unusual tiredness or weakness
  49. vision changes
  50. wheezing
  51. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Rare

  1. Change in number of sperm and their ability to move
  2. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  3. diarrhea
  4. hair loss or thinning of hair
  5. inability to have or keep an erection
  6. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  7. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  8. swelling of the breasts or breast soreness for both female and male

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
