Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Absence of or decrease in body movements
  2. hyperactivity
  3. increase in body movements
  4. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  5. twitching
  6. twisting
  7. uncontrolled repetitive movements of tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs

Less common

  1. Fever or chills
  2. cough or hoarseness
  3. lower back or side pain
  4. painful or difficult urination

Rare

  1. Confusion
  2. muscle cramps
  3. pain
  4. shortness of breath
  5. stiffness
  6. weakness
  7. unusual tiredness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More Common

  1. Abdominal pain
  2. constipation
  3. diarrhea
  4. dizziness
  5. fatigue
  6. nausea

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. anxiety
  3. belching
  4. bruising
  5. burning feeling in chest or stomach
  6. heartburn
  7. difficult or labored breathing
  8. dry mouth
  9. indigestion
  10. insomnia
  11. irritability
  12. loss of strength or energy
  13. muscle pain or weakness
  14. nervousness
  15. passing gas
  16. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  17. small, red spots on skin
  18. stomach discomfort, upset or pain
  19. sweating increased
  20. restlessness
  21. tenderness in stomach area
  22. tightness in chest
  23. tremor
  24. shortness of breath
  25. unusual or unpleasant (after) taste
  26. unusual weak feeling
  27. wheezing

This medicine may cause your urine to turn brownish orange. This effect is harmless and will go away after you stop taking the medicine.
