Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Difficulty in speaking
  2. disorientation
  3. dizziness
  4. fainting
  5. irregular heartbeat
  6. light-headedness
  7. loss of balance or muscle control

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Loss of balance or muscle control
  2. swelling of the mouth

Rare

  1. Fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  2. swelling of face, hands, lower legs, or feet

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Breast milk flowing from the nipple
  2. dry mouth
  3. swelling of the breast in the male
  4. headache
  5. hives
  6. hot flashes
  7. itching of skin
  8. itching, redness, pain, or swelling of eye
  9. menstrual irregularities
  10. pain in the breast

Rare

  1. Change in need to urinate
  2. change in appetite
  3. constipation
  4. diarrhea
  5. burning, difficult, or painful urination
  6. difficulty in speaking
  7. dizziness
  8. drowsiness
  9. heartburn
  10. irritability
  11. lack or loss of strength
  12. leg cramps
  13. mental dullness
  14. nervousness
  15. palpitations
  16. sluggishness
  17. stomach cramps
  18. thirst
  19. tiredness
  20. weakness
