Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bleeding from the bladder
  2. blood in the urine
  3. blurred vision
  4. chest pain
  5. confusion
  6. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position suddenly
  7. fever
  8. no blood pressure or pulse
  9. stopping of heart
  10. sweating
  11. unconsciousness
  12. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Arm, back, or jaw pain
  2. bloody or black, tarry stools
  3. chest tightness or heaviness
  4. constipation
  5. cough or hoarseness
  6. coughing or spitting up blood
  7. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  8. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  9. lower back or side pain
  10. nausea
  11. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  12. painful or difficult urination
  13. palpitations
  14. severe stomach pain
  15. shortness of breath
  16. sweating
  17. vomiting
  18. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds

Rare

  1. Abdominal pain or swelling
  2. back pain or backaches
  3. blue lips and fingernails
  4. changes in skin color
  5. cold hands and feet
  6. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  7. diarrhea
  8. difficult, fast, noisy breathing, sometimes with wheezing
  9. increased sweating
  10. indigestion
  11. loss of appetite
  12. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  13. pains in the chest, groin, or legs, especially calves of the legs
  14. pale skin
  15. passing of gas
  16. severe headaches of sudden onset
  17. stomach pain, fullness, or discomfort
  18. sudden loss of coordination
  19. sudden onset of shortness of breath for no apparent reason
  20. sudden onset of slurred speech
  21. sudden vision changes
  22. swelling in the legs and ankles
