A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine in a hospital. This medicine is given through a needle placed in one of your veins.
When this medicine is used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by surgery, it is usually given 1 to 2 minutes before anesthesia (medicine to put you to sleep before surgery).
When this medicine is used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by surgery, it is usually given 1 to 2 minutes right after surgery if nausea and vomiting begin.
