Monique A. Freund, M.D., is an invasive noninterventional general cardiologist. She is an assistant professor of medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.

Her areas of clinical expertise include:

  • Bedside clinical examination of the cardiovascular system
  • Providing clear and concise education to promote the patient's full understanding of his or her underlying heart problems
  • Providing the best valued care of patients by doing the right tests at the right time and reducing unnecessary testing
  • Outpatient and inpatient cardiology consultation
  • Diagnosis and management of complex cardiovascular diseases
  • Diagnosis and management of cardiomyopathies, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy and restrictive cardiomyopathy
  • Management of acute and chronic coronary artery disease
  • Diagnostic coronary angiography
  • Complex invasive hemodynamic assessment, including exercise studies for evaluation of unexplained dyspnea, heart failure and pulmonary hypertension
