Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Chest pain
  2. chills
  3. cough
  4. fever
  5. increased amount of fat in the upper back and neck, or around the chest and stomach area
  6. loss of fat from the legs, arms, and face
  7. sneezing
  8. sore throat
  9. tightness in the chest
  10. trouble breathing

Less common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. cough-producing mucus
  3. diarrhea
  4. dry mouth
  5. flushed, dry skin
  6. fruit-like breath odor
  7. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  8. headache
  9. increased hunger
  10. increased thirst
  11. increased urination
  12. joint pain
  13. loss of appetite
  14. loss of consciousness
  15. muscle aches and pains
  16. nausea
  17. runny nose
  18. shivering
  19. skin rash
  20. sore throat
  21. stomachache
  22. sweating
  23. trouble sleeping
  24. unexplained weight loss
  25. unusual tiredness or weakness
  26. vomiting

Rare

  1. Burning or prickling sensation
  2. confusion
  3. dehydration
  4. dry or itchy skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Back pain
  2. belching
  3. bloated or full feeling
  4. change in taste
  5. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  6. difficulty having a bowel movement
  7. discouragement
  8. excess air or gas in the stomach or bowels
  9. fear
  10. feeling sad or empty
  11. headache
  12. heartburn
  13. inability to have or keep an erection
  14. indigestion
  15. irritability
  16. lack of appetite
  17. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  18. loss of interest or pleasure
  19. mouth ulcers
  20. nervousness
  21. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  22. passing gas
  23. skin rash, encrusted, scaly, and oozing
  24. skin warts
  25. stomach upset, discomfort, or pain
  26. stuffy nose
  27. tiredness
  28. trouble concentrating
  29. weakness

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
