Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  3. bleeding gums
  4. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  5. blood in the urine or stools
  6. bloody vomit
  7. blurred vision
  8. body aches or pain
  9. change in the color, amount, or odor of the vaginal discharge
  10. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  11. chills
  12. confusion
  13. cough or hoarseness
  14. cough producing mucus
  15. decreased urine
  16. diarrhea
  17. difficulty in breathing
  18. dizziness
  19. dry mouth
  20. ear congestion
  21. fainting
  22. fever
  23. flu-like symptoms
  24. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  25. headache
  26. increased thirst
  27. irregular heartbeat
  28. lightheadedness
  29. loss of appetite
  30. loss of voice
  31. mood changes
  32. muscle aches, pain, or cramps
  33. nausea
  34. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  35. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  36. pounding in the ears
  37. rapid, shallow breathing
  38. rapid weight gain
  39. seizures
  40. slow or fast heartbeat
  41. sneezing
  42. sore throat
  43. severe stomach pain
  44. sleepiness
  45. stuffy or runny nose
  46. thickening of bronchial secretions
  47. tingling of the hands or feet
  48. trouble breathing
  49. tooth or gum pain
  50. unusual bleeding or bruising
  51. unusual tiredness or weakness
  52. unusual weight gain or loss

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Arm or leg pain
  2. bloody nose
  3. diarrhea
  4. difficulty in moving
  5. heartburn
  6. joint pain
  7. lack or loss of strength
  8. large, flat, blue or purplish patches in the skin
  9. pain in the lower back, bottom, hips, or upper legs
  10. unusual drowsiness, dullness, or feeling of sluggishness
