Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. confusion
  4. dilated neck veins
  5. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position suddenly
  6. extreme fatigue
  7. irregular breathing
  8. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  9. paleness or cold feeling in fingertips and toes
  10. slow or irregular heartbeat
  11. sweating
  12. swelling of face, fingers, feet, or lower legs
  13. tingling or pain in fingers or toes when exposed to cold
  14. trouble breathing
  15. unusual tiredness or weakness
  16. weight gain

Rare

  1. Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  2. changes in behavior
  3. chest tightness
  4. cough
  5. noisy breathing
  6. slurred speech

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. blurred vision
  3. chills
  4. cold sweats
  5. coma
  6. confusion
  7. cool, pale skin
  8. depression
  9. dizziness
  10. fast heartbeat
  11. headache
  12. increased hunger
  13. nausea
  14. nervousness
  15. nightmares
  16. seizures
  17. shakiness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Rare

  1. Bloated
  2. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in ears
  3. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  4. diarrhea
  5. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  6. drowsiness
  7. dry mouth, eyes, or skin
  8. excess air or gas in stomach or intestines
  9. full feeling
  10. gas in stomach
  11. hair loss, thinning of hair
  12. hearing loss
  13. heartburn
  14. inability to have or keep an erection
  15. itching skin
  16. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  17. loss of appetite
  18. passing gas
  19. rash
  20. relaxed and calm
  21. sleepiness
  22. stomach pain
  23. stomach soreness or discomfort
  24. stuffy nose
  25. vomiting
  26. weight loss

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
