Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. blood in the eye
  3. bruise
  4. coughing up blood
  5. difficulty in breathing or swallowing
  6. dizziness
  7. eye pain
  8. headache
  9. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  10. nosebleeds
  11. paralysis
  12. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  13. red or dark brown urine
  14. red or black, tarry stools
  15. redness in the whites of the eyes
  16. small, red, or purple spots on the skin
  17. trouble breathing

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating
  2. chest tightness
  3. chills
  4. confusion
  5. constipation
  6. cough
  7. darkening of the skin
  8. decrease in amount of urine
  9. depression or indentation of the skin
  10. diarrhea
  11. dry skin and hair
  12. fainting
  13. fast heartbeat
  14. feeling cold
  15. fever
  16. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  17. hair loss
  18. hives, itching, skin rash
  19. hoarseness or husky voice
  20. indigestion
  21. joint pain
  22. large, hive-like swelling on face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  23. limp pain in the hip or knee
  24. loss of appetite
  25. mental depression
  26. muscle aches, pains, cramps, and stiffness
  27. noisy, rattling breathing
  28. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  29. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  30. runny nose
  31. severe nausea and vomiting
  32. shivering
  33. slowed heartbeat
  34. sore throat
  35. sweating
  36. swelling of the fingers, hands, feet, or lower legs
  37. trouble sleeping
  38. unusual tiredness or weakness
  39. vision changes
  40. weight gain
  41. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Difficulty in moving
  2. stomach pain
