Biographical summary
Dr. Taddei completed his doctoral degree at Colorado State University, and the subject of his dissertation was ground-based microdosimetry experiments that simulated space environments. He received further training as a postdoctoral fellow at the United States Naval Academy and research scientist at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. These experiences prepared him to specialize in proton radiotherapy as a clinical focus.
Dr. Taddei is an expert on peripheral dose and secondary effects from radiotherapy. Having lived and worked in a low- to middle-income country for five years, his body of work has centered on
improving long-term outcomes of children with cancer globally. This includes understanding the relative biological effectiveness of particles used in radiotherapy, which requires microdosimetric measurements and Monte Carlo simulations.
