Anna Herrey, MD, PhD, FRCP, is a highly experienced cardiologist with a holistic approach to general cardiology, integrating advanced diagnostics and patient-centered care. She has unique expertise in cardiovascular imaging, with particular focus on cardiac MRI and CT, enabling precise assessment and tailored management of complex cardiac conditions.
Dr Herrey has a special interest in women's heart health, particularly in the areas of heart disease in pregnancy and preconception counselling. She provides expert evaluation and fitness for pregnancy testing for women with known or suspected cardiovascular disease, helping to ensure safe pregnancies and optimal maternal outcomes.
Dr Herrey's comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach supports women across all stages of pregnancy, combining in-depth diagnostic evaluation with compassionate clinical care to address the unique cardiovascular needs of women throughout their reproductive years and beyond.
Dr Herrey graduated from the Free University of Berlin Medical School and trained in Germany, Zimbabwe and the UK. She completed her cardiology specialist training in London with subspecialist training in cardiac imaging and maternal cardiology, also called obstetric cardiology.
While working in Germany, Dr Herrey completed a PhD at the University of Hamburg on coarctation of the aorta. She obtained her MD from Imperial College London while researching the properties of hibernating myocardium. Later, her focus moved to the use of imaging to characterise cardiovascular conditions, including cardiomyopathy and preeclampsia.
