On the same day that the Arizona campus opened, 54 incoming first-year medical students also started on the Minnesota campus. The national medical school model enables students to receive the same learning experiences in basic and clinical sciences at their home campus but travel among campuses for career exploration, clinical rotations and clerkships across multiple specialties.
Furthermore, Mayo students can now spend two years in Arizona or Minnesota and then transfer to Florida for their third and fourth years. Florida is excited to have two third-year students continuing their medical school training on the Florida campus this year. In 2020, eight students enrolled in Mayo Clinic School of Medicine will be able to complete their third and fourth years of medical school in Florida.
A gift to Mayo Clinic School of Medicine will advance medical education and empower a new generation of physicians to transform health care for the better and for perpetuity.
