Your time in the Administrative Fellowship Program consists of rotations through several key areas at Mayo Clinic. During your rotation planning discussions, you'll be encouraged to envision the full range of experience you hope to gain so that at the end of your fellowship, you'll be a strong candidate for the positions you wish to pursue.

Year 1: Core functional rotations

  • Education Administration
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Management Engineering
  • Practice Administration
  • Research Administration

Year 2: Flexible assignments

These opportunities accommodate your career development interests in other areas, such as:

  • Center for Innovation
  • Planning Services
  • Provider Relations

Or you may have an interim operations management experience.

Professional development

In addition to your rotations, you can develop your leadership acumen in other ways:

  • Participate in a structured mentorship program
  • Attend at least one conference of your choice (for example, American College of Healthcare Executives)
  • Sit with or potentially serve as an interim leader on institutional leadership committees
