Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Frequent and irregular bleeding
  2. menstrual changes

Incidence not known

  1. Blindness
  2. blue-yellow color blindness
  3. blurred vision
  4. breast pain
  5. changes in menstrual period
  6. changes in vision
  7. chest tightness
  8. chills
  9. clay-colored stools
  10. confusion
  11. cough
  12. dark urine
  13. decreased vision
  14. diarrhea
  15. difficulty with swallowing
  16. discouragement
  17. dizziness
  18. double vision
  19. eye pain
  20. fast heartbeat
  21. feeling sad or empty
  22. fever
  23. general tiredness and weakness
  24. headache
  25. heavy non-menstrual vaginal bleeding
  26. hives, itching, or rash
  27. irritability
  28. lack of appetite
  29. light-colored stools
  30. light vaginal bleeding between regular menstrual periods
  31. loss of interest or pleasure
  32. migraine headache
  33. nausea and vomiting
  34. numbness of the hands
  35. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  36. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  37. stomach pain
  38. swelling
  39. trouble concentrating
  40. trouble sleeping
  41. unpleasant breath odor
  42. unusual tiredness or weakness
  43. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  44. vomiting of blood
  45. yellow eyes and skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Breast tenderness
  2. increased hair growth, especially on the face
  3. pimples
  4. weight gain

Incidence not known

  1. Brown, blotchy spots on exposed skin
  2. enlarged breasts
  3. loss or thinning of the hair
  4. mood swings
  5. nervousness
  6. weight changes

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
