Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Cold or flu-like symptoms
  2. difficulty with swallowing
  3. sore throat
  4. tender or swollen lymph nodes in the neck
  5. unusual tiredness or weakness

Rare

  1. Bloating or stomach pain
  2. blurred vision
  3. chills
  4. eye pain
  5. fainting
  6. fever
  7. flushing
  8. itching, pain, redness, or swelling of the eye or eyelid
  9. joint stiffness or swelling, especially if sudden
  10. nausea
  11. skin rash or hives
  12. trouble breathing
  13. vomiting
  14. watering of the eyes
  15. yellow eyes or skin

Incidence not known

  1. Confusion
  2. dark urine
  3. decreased urine output
  4. dizziness
  5. drowsiness
  6. dry mouth
  7. fast or irregular heartbeat
  8. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  9. light-colored stools
  10. lightheadedness
  11. muscle cramps, spasms, pain, or stiffness
  12. nervousness
  13. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  14. persistent non-healing sore
  15. pink growth
  16. reddish patch or irritated area
  17. seizures
  18. shiny bump
  19. thirst
  20. weakness or heaviness of the legs
  21. white, yellow or waxy scar-like area

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Cough
  2. diarrhea (mild)
  3. headache

Rare

  1. Anxiety
  2. increased sensitivity to sunlight
  3. increased sweating
  4. redness of the face or neck
  5. reduced sexual performance or drive

Incidence not known

  1. Hair loss or thinning of the hair

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
