Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest pain or tightness
  3. dizziness or lightheadedness
  4. drowsiness
  5. dry mouth
  6. fast or irregular heartbeat—rare with oral form
  7. flushed and dry skin
  8. fruit-like breath odor
  9. increased urination
  10. loss of appetite
  11. nausea
  12. severe pounding or racing heartbeat—rare with oral form
  13. shortness of breath—rare with oral form
  14. sleepiness
  15. stomachache
  16. tiredness
  17. troubled breathing (rapid and deep)
  18. unusual thirst
  19. vomiting

Rare

  1. Sore throat or fever
  2. yellow eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

  1. Fast or irregular heartbeat (severe)
  2. nausea or vomiting (severe)
  3. nervousness or trembling (severe)
  4. shortness of breath (severe)

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Headache
  2. reddened skin
  3. tremors

Less common or rare

  1. Anxiety
  2. emotional upset
  3. jitteriness, nervousness, or restlessness
  4. skin rash

After you stop using this medicine, it may still produce some side effects that need attention. During this period of time, check with your doctor immediately if you notice the following side effects:

  1. Shortness of breath
