Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blue-green to black skin discoloration
  2. chills
  3. cough
  4. diarrhea
  5. dizziness
  6. extremely high fever or body temperature
  7. fast, shallow breathing
  8. fast, weak heartbeat
  9. fever
  10. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  11. joint pain
  12. muscle aches, cramps, and pains
  13. pale, clammy skin
  14. runny nose
  15. seizures
  16. shivering
  17. sore throat
  18. sweating
  19. thirst
  20. trouble sleeping
  21. unusual tiredness or weakness
  22. vomiting

Less common

  1. Dark urine
  2. decreased appetite
  3. itching skin
  4. light-colored stools
  5. stomach pain
  6. yellow eyes or skin

Rare

  1. Chest tightness
  2. difficulty with swallowing
  3. hives or welts, skin rash
  4. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  5. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  6. redness of the skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Difficulty with moving
  2. itching, rash, redness, soreness, swelling, or warmth at the injection site
  3. lack or loss of strength
  4. muscle aches, cramps, pains, or stiffness
  5. pain, redness, or sloughing of the skin at the injection site
