Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. chills
  3. cough
  4. difficulty with breathing
  5. ear congestion
  6. fever
  7. headache
  8. loss of voice
  9. nasal congestion
  10. runny nose
  11. sneezing
  12. sore throat
  13. unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. changes in skin color
  3. chest pain or discomfort
  4. confusion
  5. dark urine
  6. diarrhea
  7. dizziness
  8. eye pain
  9. fainting
  10. inability to speak
  11. itching
  12. lack or loss of appetite
  13. light-colored stools
  14. lightheadedness
  15. nausea
  16. numbness in the hands
  17. pain in the stomach
  18. pain in the chest, groin, or legs, especially the calves
  19. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  20. pain, tenderness, or swelling of the foot or leg
  21. pounding in the ears
  22. rash
  23. seizures
  24. slow or fast heartbeat
  25. slurred speech
  26. sudden headache
  27. sudden loss of coordination
  28. sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg on one side of the body
  29. sweating
  30. swelling, pain, or tenderness in the upper abdominal or stomach area
  31. temporary blindness
  32. unpleasant breath odor
  33. vision changes
  34. vomiting of blood
  35. yellow eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

  1. Unusual vaginal bleeding in women
  2. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Burning, itching, or redness of the skin
  2. menstrual cramps
  3. pain, soreness, swelling, or discharge from the breast or breasts
  4. swelling or soreness at the patch site

Incidence not known

  1. Absent, missed, or irregular menstrual periods
  2. bloody vaginal discharge
  3. brown, blotchy spots on exposed skin
  4. change in amount of vaginal discharge
  5. change in menstrual flow
  6. decreased amount of breast milk
  7. discouragement
  8. dry mouth
  9. feeling sad or empty
  10. increase or decrease in weight
  11. increased hunger or thirst
  12. increased urination
  13. irritability
  14. itching of the vagina or outside of the genitals
  15. light vaginal bleeding between periods and after sexual intercourse
  16. loss of interest or pleasure
  17. pain during sexual intercourse
  18. stomach cramps or bloating
  19. stopping of menstrual bleeding
  20. swelling
  21. thick, white curd-like vaginal discharge without odor or with mild odor
  22. trouble concentrating
  23. trouble sleeping
