Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

1. Acid or sour stomach
2. anxiety
3. backache
4. belching
5. change in vaginal discharge
6. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
7. clear or bloody discharge from the nipple
8. confusion
9. cough
10. difficulty with speaking
11. difficulty with swallowing
12. dimpling of the breast skin
13. dizziness or lightheadedness
14. double vision
15. fainting
16. fast heartbeat
17. full or bloated feeling or pressure in the stomach
18. headache
19. heartburn
20. hives, itching, or rash
21. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
22. inability to speak
23. indigestion
24. inverted nipple
25. loss of appetite
26. lump in the breast or under the arm
27. nausea
28. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
29. pain or feeling of pressure in the pelvis
30. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
31. persistent crusting or scaling of the nipple
32. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
33. redness or swelling of the breast
34. slow speech
35. sore on the skin of the breast that does not heal
36. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
37. sweating
38. swelling of the stomach area
39. trouble breathing
40. unusual tiredness or weakness
41. vaginal bleeding
42. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

1. Back pain
2. body aches or pain
3. breast pain
4. burning, itching, redness, skin rash, swelling, or soreness at the application site
5. chills
6. discouragement
7. ear congestion
8. feeling sad or empty
9. fever
10. heavy nonmenstrual vaginal bleeding
11. irritability
12. loss of interest or pleasure
13. loss of voice
14. runny or stuffy nose
15. sneezing
16. sore throat
17. trouble concentrating
18. trouble sleeping

Less common

1. Bladder pain
2. bloody or cloudy urine
3. blurred vision
4. cough producing mucus
5. diarrhea
6. difficult, burning, or painful urination
7. difficulty with moving
8. dizziness
9. excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
10. frequent urge to urinate
11. general feeling of discomfort or illness
12. itching of the vagina or genital area
13. joint pain
14. lower back or side pain
15. muscle aches, pains, or stiffness
16. pain during sexual intercourse
17. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
18. passing gas
19. pounding in the ears
20. shivering
21. slow or fast heartbeat
22. weight gain

1. Loss or thinning of the hair
2. pressure in the stomach
