Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  2. blurred vision
  3. body aches or pain
  4. chest pain or tightness
  5. chills
  6. confusion
  7. cough
  8. difficulty swallowing
  9. dizziness
  10. ear congestion
  11. facial swelling
  12. fast heartbeat
  13. fever
  14. headache
  15. hoarseness
  16. loss of voice
  17. nausea
  18. nervousness
  19. pounding in the ears
  20. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, lips, or tongue
  21. rapid, shallow breathing
  22. skin rash, hives, or itching
  23. slow or fast heartbeat
  24. sneezing
  25. sore throat
  26. stuffy or runny nose
  27. tingling of the hands or feet
  28. trouble breathing
  29. unusual tiredness or weakness
  30. unusual weight gain or loss
  31. vomiting

Less common

  1. Dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  2. painful blisters on the trunk of body
  3. sweating

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. constipation
  5. coughing that sometimes produce a pink frothy sputum
  6. darkened urine
  7. lower back or side pain
  8. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  9. painful or difficult urination
  10. pale skin
  11. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  12. swelling in the legs and ankles
  13. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  14. unusual bleeding or bruising
  15. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  3. diarrhea
  4. difficulty with moving
  5. joint pain
  6. loss of appetite
  7. muscle pain or stiffness
  8. pain in the arms or legs
  9. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  10. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
