Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common or rare

  1. Burning and itching of skin
  2. chills
  3. depression
  4. diarrhea
  5. false sense of well-being
  6. fever
  7. infection
  8. mood swings
  9. painful, red or itchy, pus-containing blisters in hair follicles
  10. personality changes
  11. rectal bleeding, burning, dryness, itching, or pain not present before therapy
  12. sensation of pins and needles
  13. stabbing pain
  14. straining while passing stool (with tixocortol only)

Additional side effects may occur if you use this medicine for a long time. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common or rare

  1. Dizziness
  2. dry, scaly skin
  3. increase in appetite
  4. increased sweating
  5. lightened skin color
  6. passing of gas (with budesonide only)
  7. sensation of spinning
  8. thin, fragile skin
  9. thinning hair on scalp
  10. unusual weight gain

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
