Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

1. Collection of blood under the skin
2. deep, dark purple bruise
3. itching, pain, redness, or swelling

Less common

1. Bloody nose
2. bloody, black, or tarry stools
3. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds

Rare

1. Bleeding in the eye
2. confusion
3. headache, sudden, severe, and continuing
4. nausea and vomiting

Incidence not known

1. Anxiety
2. blistering, peeling, loosening of the skin
3. bloating
4. blurred vision
5. burning upper stomach pain
6. change in mental status
7. chest pain or tightness
8. cold sweats
9. coma
10. constipation
11. cool, pale skin
12. cough or hoarseness
13. dark or bloody urine
14. difficulty in breathing or swallowing
15. difficulty speaking
16. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
17. fast heartbeat
18. feeling of discomfort
19. fever with or without chills
20. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
21. hives, itching, skin rash
22. increased hunger
23. indigestion
24. inflammation of the joints
25. joint or muscle pain
26. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, sex organs
27. light-colored stools
28. loss of appetite
29. lower back or side pain
30. muscle aches
31. nervousness
32. nightmares
33. noisy breathing
34. painful or difficult urination
35. pains in the side, possibly radiating to the back
36. pinpoint red spots on the skin
37. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
38. rash with flat lesions or small raised lesions on the skin
39. rectal bleeding
40. red irritated eyes
41. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
42. reddening of the skin, especially around the ears
43. seizures
44. shakiness
45. skin blisters
46. slurred speech
47. sore throat
48. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
49. stomach cramps, tenderness, or pain
50. sweating
51. swelling of the eyes, face, or inside of the nose
52. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
53. swollen or painful glands
54. trouble breathing
55. unusual bleeding or bruising
56. watery or bloody diarrhea
57. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Incidence not known

1. Change in taste bad unusual or unpleasant (after) taste
2. difficulty in moving
3. loss of sense of taste
4. muscle aches, cramps, or stiffness
5. redness or swollen joints
6. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
