Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Changes in vision
  2. chest pain
  3. difficult or labored breathing
  4. shortness of breath
  5. swelling of face, fingers, feet, or lower legs
  6. tightness in chest
  7. wheezing

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Anxiety
  2. blurred vision
  3. chest discomfort
  4. chills
  5. cold sweats
  6. coma
  7. confusion
  8. convulsions
  9. cool, pale skin
  10. cough
  11. decreased urine output
  12. depression
  13. dilated neck veins
  14. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position suddenly
  15. extreme fatigue
  16. headache
  17. increased hunger
  18. irregular breathing
  19. loss of bladder control
  20. muscle spasm or jerking of all extremities
  21. nausea
  22. nervousness
  23. nightmares
  24. noisy breathing
  25. pain in the shoulders, back, neck, or jaw
  26. shakiness
  27. slow, fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
  28. slurred speech
  29. sudden loss of consciousness
  30. sweating
  31. troubled breathing
  32. unusual tiredness or weakness
  33. weight gain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. bloated
  4. diarrhea
  5. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  6. difficulty in moving
  7. discouragement
  8. excess air or gas in stomach or intestines
  9. feeling sad or empty
  10. full feeling
  11. heartburn
  12. indigestion
  13. irritability
  14. lack of appetite
  15. loss of interest or pleasure
  16. muscle aching or cramping
  17. muscle pain or stiffness
  18. pain in joints
  19. passing gas
  20. problems in urination or increase in amount of urine
  21. rash
  22. sleeplessness
  23. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  24. swollen joints
  25. tiredness
  26. trouble concentrating
  27. trouble sleeping
  28. unable to sleep
  29. unusual dreams
