The goal of this study is to create a comprehensive system of tissue/serum banking of samples from Mayo Clinic Arizona patients with a diagnosis of cancer, inheritable cancer syndrome, at high risk for an inheritable cancer syndrome based on genetic counselor assessment, or a high risk pre-malignant lesion who have undergone a surgical procedure to remove the cancer or high risk tissue. This study is being done to collect blood and tissue samples for future research of cancer.

The purpose of this study is to compare a vaccine with autologous tumor lysate loaded into yeast cell wall particles that are naturally and efficiently taken up into a patient's dendrite cells to a placebo without the autologous tumor lysate. The vaccine is formulated to treat stage III or IV resected melanoma to prevent recurrence.
- To determine utilization patterns of narcotic pain medication postoperatively for patients recovering from a general surgery or subspecialty procedure
- To compare the outcomes of patients’ pain medication regimens with current non-standardized prescribing patterns versus an evidence-based standardized prescribing regimen once the initial needs assessment is complete
- To characterize patient satisfaction with postoperative narcotic pain regimens
