As a native of Jacksonville, Dr. Shaikh is a proud Floridian and is grateful to practice in his hometown. He completed his undergraduate studies in computer engineering, and then went to medical school to focus on helping others. During his medical training, he developed a passion for Hematology and Oncology with a special emphasis on benign hematologic disorders.

The field of Benign Hematology is vast and includes disorders that affect every organ system in the body. Diagnosing and treating these disorders can be difficult, as it often involves interpretation of a wide array of lab tests in the setting of multiple patient specific factors. Dr. Shaikh enjoys putting the puzzle together and strives to provide the highest quality of care to his patients. He actively participates in quality improvement research and loves educating fellows, residents, and students.
